HALITOSIS
HALITOSIS
A Very foul-smelling mouth.
I don't know whether you've ever sat next to a person with a very foul-smelling mouth, and kept wondering whether they are aware that your mouth is stinking?
Have you?
That's Halitosis.
They brush their teeth, dress smart, and wear cologne but the moment they start taking, their teeth start smelling.
This comes as a result of messing up with the pH of the mouth. Normal pH is almost neutral. When the pH is changed, the bacteria in the mouth starts working against you.
It's not as a result of DIRTY BLOOD as some have been told.
It's about your mouth's pH and the foods you have been eating particularly the carbohydrates that are fermented in teeth crevices yielding Lactic Acid that starts eating away your Enamel by leaching(demineralize) your minerals from the teeth. , and increasing the Bad bacteria in the mouth even more.
The tonsil holes also trap some food particles, they start trapping bacteria, yielding a fermentation process and producing a bad smell. So talk to your dentist to remove any tonsil stones in those holes
Diet plays a great role in your mouth pH and health.
HOW TO DEAL WITH HALITOSIS
1. Stop smoking.
2. Brush your Teeth with SALT AND WATER. Not mouthwash and toothpaste. Floss also because flossing can clear points that a toothbrush can't go
3. Drop carbohydrates. Especially the Simple carbohydrates because of the sugars that hurt your root from inside, through blood and from outside through the fermentation process.
4. Brush before you sleep with Salty water.
5. Or Use ACV- Apple Cider Vinegar. Dilute in water and brush your teeth. (Not everyday)
6. Accept the comments and work to become better.
7. Regular check ups. At least twice a year. Don't wait until your teeth starts hurting.
Remember your Saliva and blood plays a great role in maintaining the pH.
If your Saliva quality is poor, alot of things are prone to occur because Saliva contains a lot of things.
1. Mucus that lubricated food
2. Microorganisms for protection
3. Bacteria that make you B vitamins
4. Immune cells thay protect you, that's why when you bite yourself you heal so fast
5. Water
6. Analgesics(painkillers)- very potent, almost equivalent to morphine.
However our lifestyles really messed up our Saliva and blood.
Take care of your oral health.
