CHRONIC KIDNEY DISERASE [CKD]
CHRONIC KIDNEY DISERASE [CKD]
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) often progresses gradually, and many individuals may not experience noticeable symptoms until the disease is in its later stages. However, some early warning signs of CKD include:
1. Changes in Urination:
Increased or decreased frequency of urination, especially at night (nocturia)
Foamy or bubbly urine
Blood in the urine (hematuria)
Dark-colored urine
2. Swelling (Edema):
Puffiness in the face, ankles, feet, or legs due to fluid retention
Weight gain without changes in diet, possibly from fluid buildup
3. Fatigue and Weakness:
Feeling unusually tired or weak, even after rest
Low energy levels due to anemia, a common complication of CKD
4. Shortness of Breath:
Difficulty breathing or feeling winded due to fluid accumulation in the lungs or anemia
5. Persistent High Blood Pressure:
Uncontrolled high blood pressure that doesn't respond well to medication
6. Nausea and Vomiting:
Feeling nauseous or vomiting frequently, which can occur as a result of waste accumulation in the body due to reduced kidney function
7. Loss of Appetite:
Decreased desire to eat, sometimes associated with nausea and vomiting
8. Itchy Skin (Pruritus):
Persistent itching or dry skin that may occur due to the buildup of toxins
9. Back Pain:
Pain in the lower back, often around the kidneys (though this is less common)
10. Metallic Taste or Bad Breath (Uremic Breath):
A foul taste in the mouth or bad breath, which can happen due to the buildup of waste products in the body
11. Confusion or Difficulty Concentrating:
Cognitive impairment, such as trouble focusing, memory issues, or confusion, which can occur due to toxin buildup affecting the brain
2. Swelling (Edema):
